Having just completed the mattress leg I sympathize with Arlo. With mattresses, I could sleep on anything. When you can sleep on shopping carts, you can sleep on anything. So, as in most cases, the smart move is to find what makes your better half happy, and be happy with that.
Done it, learned my lesson. I won’t shop for big items without my husband, this is our house after all. But after the great mattress disaster I have learned to pre-choose what to show him.
I have short legs, so I must be able to sit comfortably on a couch. Hubby has long legs, so it’s all the same to him. We have an old couch I love that just needs repadding and reupholstering — if we could do without it long enough for that to get done!

That is because Arlo kept trying see if he could feel a pea under the mattress .

Might as well stay home and wait for the surprise. It’s gonna be what she wants anyway.

I suspect that to Arlo, when shopping for a mattress, sleep comfort is a secondary concern.

OMG, I can just imagine the show he put on!

Salesgal was probably hitting on him

When the trapdoor fails at his hanging, Arlo will point out what’s wrong with the thing.

He wanted to test the mattress “test” in the store. Likely will be the same with the sofa. (Wear pants.)

Does Arlo have OCD?

Arlo, this time remember to bring a blanket for when you “Test” it out.

Gah, furniture shopping. Kill me now.

As I have said before Arlo, put the shovel down; that hole is deep enough and you will not be able to crawl out.

The most important criteria for a new couch is that it is nappable.

I bet it was because he kept falling asleep on the displays!

It would probably go better if Janis went alone – decided on her top 3 choices and THEN asked Arlo to weigh in.
cuzinron47 almost 4 years ago
That was because you’re mattress incompatible.

If you make yourself annoying enough, you’ll never be asked to tag along again. Just ask Mrs. Baker.

Don’t Go! It’s a Trap! She wants you to give her comments and reviews that she wants you to give her, she doesn’t want your opinion at all!

Was the mattress “soaked in our family DNA” too?

It was testing the mattress in the store window that made her say that…

Too funny—our new mattress arrived a few hours ago. It’s absolute perfection.
