In one strip, Linus wonders out loud why Snoopy doesn’t sleep in the doghouse instead of on it. Everyone around him, including Snoopy, rolls their eyes at such a hopelessly inane question, and Linus walks away embarrassed at his own silliness.
Remember the 15 or so strips dedicated to his dog house burned. The lost his Van Gogh. Later, when Charles Schultz died (or the day after) there was an editorial cartoon in the local paper. Tom Landry, legendary coach of the Dallas Cowboys had died the same day. The editorial cartoon had Landry, in his typical suit and hat with his arm around Charlie Brown walking into Heaven. The caption read, “Let me teach you a thing or two about kicking the ball”. CLASSIC
Snoopy is a Time Lord. His dog house is his TARDIS. It’s sooooo full of stuff though, that there are no comfy beds to sleep on inside. Lucky the pool table was free of flotsum and jettsom enough to play a round….
