Do bear in mind that THAT recount was on ballots that were disputed: They had problems. Normal everyday ballots… that were dropped into local lock boxes, by the way, rather than being mailed back… should be much easier to count.

I still grind my teeth when I remember the Supremes’ rationale for stopping the recount. It may have been legal but it was sure immoral. Their little Brooks Brothers’ ‘riot’ will pale in comparison if something similar happens.

Ballots are counted by running them through a digital scanner – at least one model counts 300 ballots per minute. A heck of a lot faster than counting by hand.

Buckle up and brace for impact Americans, the way things are going 2020 is going to make the election of 1876, never mind the one in 2000, look like a tea party (no, not THAT tea party).

But the SCOTUS said their install of “W” in 2000 was a one time thingy, no precedent, no way for it to be done again… now what are they going to say?

Don’t forget about the late votes found in the trunks of cars that despite the odds represent votes for one candidate. Or bags of ballots found in a classroom during the inevitable recount. I figure if the election is close we’ll have a winner by Christmas or so.

Rall in a quandary: he can’t blame this on Biden.

It was those (cough, cough) ‘principled progressive’ voters who cast their lot with Nader. 97,000 of them in Florida. If they had voted for Gore, think how much better the world would be right now.

Many Republicans vote by mail, how does this help Trump?

Cheating anti Constitution Republicans are hacking the United States Post Office because they think it will help them in the election. At the same time Grassley and Johnson are repeating Russian propaganda against Biden.

I think its time the UnAmerican republicans were removed from office.

It might happen but todays absentee ballots are bar coded and run quickly through a scanner. Florida’s ballots were punches with “hanging chads”. I hope there are no third party or protest votes. That’s how he got in last time. 48,000 third party votes in Michigan, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin.

Always keep your eye on the ball. Election fraud is NEVER* about the postal service (*although as pointed out correctly above, Trump’s toady postmaster general will work hard to change that), but almost always about the people who control the COUNTING of the ballots.

So, don’t mail them. Almost every district has a policy and a place to return both absentee and mail in ballots.

People have to remember there is no law that says the election has to be called on election day or within a certain number of days of the election.

My precinct in East Tennessee had a scanner that was not working for our paper in person ballots.

Somehow, other countries manage to count paper ballots by hand, and do it quickly. I wonder what super-advanced method and mathematical geniuses they use to do that?

Gosh, Ted, this almost sounds like you don’t like Trump! Are you sure that you don’t want to recreate your strips of 4 years ago, when you whined about Clinton not being Rall-enough to be president up to the election, and then in 2017 spent 6 months after the election complaining about Clinton some more? Like Trump wasn’t even there? Keep up this, and someday you might actually be a liberal Dem!

If it takes too long, Nancy Pelosi will have to assume the president’s office.
