My wife tells me that I STILL use one word sentences to reply to her. She also tells me that communication is a wonderful thing, and that I shoud try it sometime.
And as to Max’s one-word communications, it seems to me they are 100% clear. What else would you like to add? In a language like Russian, they don’t use a word for the connector the way we do. So they would use only two words: “Luci bad” to indicate the entire meaning.

Max is pretty little–he’s only recently started to talk at all, so one-word sentences are really great!

I’m not sure exactly how old Max is since the characters don’t age (much) in this strip, but I was thinking he was supposed to be about 2?
