When bush dit it, you loved it cause he SPENT SPENT SPENT to enrich fat cats like military contractors, big wall street crooks and OIL companies. You don’t like it now , because spending might benefit real american citizens who if they get jobs might ACTUALLY PAY their taxes. Hypocrite!!
War, you can’t prove that his spending saved jobs. In fact, what we can prove is that it went to prop up public employees from having to take wage cuts or furloughs; most of his “stimulus” package was funneled into public works projects and public sector jobs. These government jobs don’t stimulate wealth. They only consume it. Yes, they affect the GDP somewhat, but not enough to be considered to have “saved millions of jobs.” More likely it “saved millions of votes.”
His max prediction was what… 8% unemployment with it, and 9.5% without the “stimulus”? So where was this supposed impact when we saw unemployment peak at 10% nationwide? His plan didn’t save anything but public-sector votes.
