Summersgiving. The Saturday after the Summer Solstice, gather your friends and family to celebrate Summersgiving! This day is designed to combine all the fun of summer with America’s favorite Thanksgiving food. It’s a celebration of life, rooted in gratitude, to be shared with the friends and food that make life fun.

I’ve never been a fan of the TV show “Survivor”. I watched about ten minutes of it once in the first season and found it so incredibly boring that I had to turn it off. I was sure it would never survive to see a second season. Boy, was I wrong about that! Is it still on the air? I know it lasted quite a few seasons.

To WDemBlk FRom yesterday’s comments – I usually drive slightly over the speed limit, too (only 3-4 mph over, usually). And when someone starts to tailgate me, I also slow down. Unless I realize that I’m going well below the speed limit. In that case, I speed up to the speed limit (or a hair over it). If the tailgater still persists in tailgating me, then I slow way down again.

I remember a girl named Ginger who used to work at my Walmart. She thought she knew everything about everything. One day, she was saying that if she’s behind someone driving too slow for her, she gets right up on their rear end (she used a different term). I told her that if people do that to me, I slow down. She was shocked and she said “WHAT?!” Another friend said she does the same thing. Ginger just did not get it even when I explained why tailgating is dangerous and that if someone is going to tailgate me, i’d prefer it’s at a slow speed. Better yet, I said, by slowing down, I hope the tailgater will pass me ASAP.

I believe that I have read in TV Guide that CBS has delayed running The Amazing Race this summer until the fall when it will run on the same night as Survivor.

I love yesterday’s and today’s strip. Good job, Graham.

I’m a bit lost. Who/what is Probst? Something to do with Survivor, a show I’ve never watched? The only reality shows I’ve ever watched are Judge Judy and The People’s Court — I learned a lot from them!

Jeff Probst is the host of Survivor (a really silly reality show. Even the word ‘reality’ is a joke). The premise these people team up and compete to not get tossed of the island. The chicken is afraid he’ll be part of the “dinner in a pot” episode. That’s my take on this. I could be wrong.

My neighbor, Rex, who does so much to help me with animals and all things mechanical (he’s a retired electrical engineer) had a birthday today. I made him a Kentucky Bourbon Pie and a big loaf of bread. I told him I was not going to town to shop for someone who buys everything he wants anyway….actually, I’m not going to town to shop for any reason. But he was quite happy with his gifts. He came up with his two dogs and we chatted from opposite ends of the living room. I had also downloaded the application for the Tennessee election commission vote by mail for him and several other friends.

Is Survivor still a thing? Never really cared much for that show. I’d rather watch reruns of Gilligan’s Island. Love the classic car. I went to a couple classic cars last shows last Summer. Don’t know if I’ll go to any this year. On another note, saw two robins, three rabbits, and some juncos while out walking today.
