Baldo by Hector D. Cantú and Carlos Castellanos for April 24, 2011
Transcript:
Dad: Baldo, can we talk about a few things? Baldo: Sure, Dad. Dad: I know following your dreams is good... Dad: But as your father, I have to tell you that other things are important in life... Dad: Things like duty, responsibility, character, personal sacrifice and service to others. Baldo: Dad... please! That's important to me, too! Dad: It is? Baldo: You bet! Baldo: When I'm rich, I'm gonna hire someone to handle all that stuff for me.

And that’s what’s wrong with what they’re teaching our kids in school today.
Follow your dreams! Be all that you can be! YOU can make a difference!
It kind of leaves out the part that it’s not all about you, and that America would be a better place if we all were more concerned about duty, responsibility, character and personal sacrifice.

caseva77, it’s not only in America where kids have that outlook on life. It seems to be universal in Western nations at any rate. In China and other poor nations children have a very different outlook.
