Angel: Mr. President, we're your better angels. Come to give you a wake-up call. Obama: 'Bout what? Angel: About Libya, man - the rebels are desperate for a no-fly zone. Obama: Yea!! Let's hear it for the rebels. What else? Angel: Japan, man. Earthquake, tsunami, nuclear disaster. Obama: I'm broken-hearted about Japan. Yes, we must aid Japan in it's tragic hour of need. Angel: It ain't workin'. Hit it, Bix. Obama: Decisions, decisions - I much prefer those easy ones that don't involve Arabs or Afghans... Punk: Sound the clarion, beat the drum.

Thank God he is making himself a one-term president, even though that was one term too many!

As compared to the 2 terms of the Apocalypse of W?
Obama inherited one of the most hellacious messes ever, and if the Democrats had behaved under W the way the Republicans have behaved under Obama, the right would have called it treasonous. In fact the right did call it treasonous then if they disagreed in any way.
Yeah, I wish Obama had been more successful but I still consider it a great improvement over the previous administrations.

Japan has Arabs?

For my part, he has many failings - but I would NOT jump in to Libya or any of those other situations. They are not ours to fix - and when we dive in to other people’s countries to make it all better, we inevitably make it worse.

Just sayin…

I agree. The elephants have painted themselves into a corner by pandering entirely to the right-wing fruitcakes. So, back to voting for the donkeys because the alternative is unthinkable.

“The Liberals might turn on their own but they will vote for him in 2012. You can pick the most left Republican ever and he will be a racist homophobic who eats death row inmates.”
I value personal freedom far too much to ever vote for a Republican.jaxaction about 13 years ago
if “progressives” can be USED against Republics, and it’s people, and attack their oil and resources then they will:
attack with “democracy” in yr mouths, all dovetailed to ROYAL oil “democracies” READ: MONARCHY, in form…ANYTHING is allowed to keep ROYAL oil prices high,AND hoodwink the you-knighted states on the FORMS of Kingdoms, and attack the forms and resources of Republics. (esp OURS!) “each bullet the cost of a book, each bomb the cost of a school”-IKE–beware the military industrial complex…www.costofwar.com
AND it’s actions in defining “issues” by the brits, CNN now trying to OUT tory the tories on foxnoose…all ROYAL reporting , DEFINING our fears for us.
DEAD silence on saudi kingdoms murders, press block-out=back to charlie or Lindsey or misplaced fears of radiations.

ps:”In Benghazi, live footage on Al Jazeera television showed hundreds of defiant Libyan rebels gathered in the central square waving the tricolor flag of the monarchy era in a rally after Gaddafi’s speech was broadcast.” msnbc,
They as well, are overdoing the RUSH to monarchy-they agree with foxnoose and cnn…protect the royal oil families, attack the Republics. or better yet, from their view, have the Republics fight each other- FOR the Royals.

As I recall in the previous Congress the GOP filibustered just about everything. That is how they came to be called the “Grand NO Party”. OF COURSE nothing got done. Mr Obama was trying to work with the not-so-loyal opposition, but they weren’t playing ball.

“Funny how you support Democrats fleeing their State in an attempt to block votes on Critical Legislation.”
Interesting how it was so critical that they decided to vote on the issue without the rest of the budget. If it were truly critical, do you think think they could have voted the other way around. In any event, I’d say the Democrats learned a lesson from their record-setting filibuster counterparts, the Republicans, who blocked critical legislation for tax cuts for the top 2% of us, who pay a lesser percentage of their income in taxes than the middle class does ANYWAY (this is an undeniable fact). So really, what’s the solution? Is it to jump in? Because a lot of the politicians who are saying we should rush into this are the ones saying we don’t have money for anything. Are we going to finance another war on Chinese dollars?

Hey, it’s not our job to deal with Libya or Japan(although the US Navy was there in a flash).
Besides, we’re incapable of handling anything further, according to some idiots.
