I like John’s idea. However, there’s a loophole. Possible fraudulent data.

As a kid in high school, mine was 10:00.

As an “adult” mine is about 8:30 so I can read for a couple of hours.

Yeah, but as an adult, I have to get up MUCH earlier than I did as a kid, unless you count getting up early for Saturday Morning Cartoons…

Mark Twain said that when he became an adult, he was amazed at how much more intelligent his father had become.

I’ve been getting up at about the same time since high school…. elementary was a little later. My bedtime hasn’t changed much either, but it’s getting harder and harder to function on seven hours of sleep….

    Kids just don’t appreciate bedtime.

SUSAN NEWMAN, when and where did you go to school? As a second grader I was getting woke up at 6AM so I could get dressed, eat breakfast, and head off to Mass. Me and the Old Man (a Cop) left at the same time, most of the time I left before him. In high school, public vs. parochial, classes started at 7:30. Because of staggered classes, some, usually the 10th graders (HS was 10 -12 Grade for me) started later. But I was through in time to head for my full time job as a cashier at Cunningham’s Drug Store, and be at work by 2, after a 45 minute bus ride..

BTW anyone notice that most elementary school kids are carrying a heck of a lot more books to school than us old farts did in HS?

The kids in my neighborhood catch the school bus at 6:30 AM for middle and highschool and 7 AM for elementary. They get home between 4:30 and 5:30. That’s a LONG day! My neighbor’s 4th grader has about 2 hours of homework a night.

When I had regular employment, I had to BE THERE at or before 7 AM. so normally awoke about 4AM to do toiletries, breakfast prep-eat & wash, and drive to work. Now I just awake at sunrise with the other birds (as I consider myself one) and I retire shortly after they do- to get at least a good 7 hours!
