In Middle Eastern countries when you want to show contempt of someone you throw a shoe, since they are under a sheet in the morgue they were getting ready to throw a shoe at a person who was armed…ie…the army.

IMO this is an Israeli view (which I totally agree with) of what happens to the young men (unarmed) in IRAN trying to disrespect the Mullah Rulers for the last 31 years of suppression and oppression of the Iranian people.

China used armed tanks to stamp out popular dissent; these Taliban-type rulers use whatever is handy…arrests, imprisonment, shooting, bombing….to stifle protestors.

the USA and the West ought IMO to be aiding the young people in Iran who desire Freedom as they see the other regimes—Egypt, Tunisia, Libya, etc…—being hyped in Western TV News……but the Obama administration is helping “sit on” the Iranians, by withholding moral and other support.

(PS check out Views of the World cartoon today)

People of Gaza and Lebanon holding their shoes up against Netanyahu? POV makes a difference. When some folks are blind to other than their OWN point of view, or our “friends”, it is the witch ignoring her warts.
