“Despot?” Get real.
And you are totally wrong. He has done a study indicating it is unconstitutional (which it is), and as a result the DoJ will not be defending cases anymore. He has every right to do this.
The law is still being enforced and continues to be enforced even now.
However, administration officials pledged to continue to enforce the law, which remains in effect unless Congress repeals it or a court strikes it down.

Yes, churchy. Governments do this all the time. Usually with laws that are outdated (like the one mandating that all autos bepreceeded by a man carry a red lantern) or just don’t make sense (like the one about two trains meeting at a junction and neither one proceeding till the other does). You see, the art of government is the application of common sense to the administration of our laws.
I’m gald our Forefathers changed the system….no longer is the “King of the Castle” the other guy……we are now the “King of Our Own Castle”……..and in this Castle marriage is between a man and a woman…they become “Husband and Wife”. The other guy, the “wanna-be-king” in Washington is just a figure head.
^ What does your castle have to do with government enforced and subsidized benefits being withheld from taxpaying citizens based on religious discrimination?
Christ, people, do you READ? Choosing not to pursue cases is not the same thing as “declaring a law unconstitutional.” And he has the First Amendment right to express his opinion even as President, regardless of the fact that they did some research first!
My late father referred to a boss he had in the early 1980’s as a dictator; literally berated everybody, everyday, in every way; as if nobody had a mind of their own.

I think this is the first time I have seen the words government and common sense used in the same sentence.
