Charlie Brown, Schroeder and Lucy stand on the pitcher's mound. Schroeder says, "Beethoven could have got more work done if he hadn't had to worry about his nephew . ." Lucy says, "I didn't have any cold cereal this morning because my stupid brother used up all the milk!" Charlie Brown looks back and forth between them.<BR><BR> Charlie Brown sits in the beanbag. Sally asks, "What do ball players talk about when they meet out on the mound?" Charlie Brown replies, "Don't ask!"<BR><BR>

Ludwig van Beethoven’s brother Kaspar passed away in 1815 from tuberculosis, when his son Karl (1806–1858) was only nine years old. His will gave guardianship of Karl to both his mother Johanna and uncle Ludwig. Ludwig hated his sister-in-law, considering her an immoral woman unfit to be his nephew’s guardian and there was a bitter custody battle over Karl between them, which Ludwig eventually won. He was miserable with his uncle though, even attempting suicide when he was 19. Ludwig’s health took a turn for the worse soon after and he passed away two years later, leaving his estate to Karl.
