My mother (rip) when she bought some new clothes that had shoulder pads in them. When she got home first thing she would do is rip them out. At one time she worked in a factory that made clothes so she knew what she was doing.

I always hated shoulder pads.

“You really need to diversify into Beanie Babies”

“You can stack those Beanie Babies next to the Pet Rocks!”

Same with platform shoes, bell bottom pants, frilly shirts, and the nehru jacket, oh and hammer time pants……Can’t touch this!

I used to remove them because I already had broad shoulders. Never quite knew what to do with them, but hung onto a bag full for a few years in case an idea occurred to me.

Hated looking like a football player…so not lady like…much like platform shoes( clunkers) and other styles not becoming to a woman’s shape. Today most women can’t walk gracefully with 6 " heels let alone ugly boots they think they look good in.

This could be the storyline for an episode of “The Goldbergs”.

Wear what you enjoy and forget what the trends dictate-

What women really want and need are functional pockets?

And she has the proofed up hair to go along with them!
