Sounds like Anansi decided to dump the Ebonics.

Casey… Although you’re probably gone already, for what it is worth, Anansi probably ‘dumped the Ebonics’ because STREET GIBBERISH is no longer ‘cool’. The so-called ebonics was not then, now, nor ever a legitimate “language”. Language has structure and logic, ebonics is nothing more than a pointless occupation of airspace.

Maybe it’s Spider Woman, not Anansi.

Either way, hanging onto Excalibur, he or she is a long way from home.

Macbeth, Act IV, Scene 3. I was going to guess Paradise Lost even though the scansion is wrong. How did human life exist before Google?

(Justin, you sound a tad bitter office-wise. Is it time to find another day job?)

Anansi never spoke ebonics in my strip.

His accent doesn’t come through in the words he speaks here.

I don’t work in an office.

Chickuku is correct, the Sword In The Stone is completely different from Excalibur. The sword in the stone was broken in battle, and Merlin took Arthur to the lake at Avalon where The Lady of the Lake presented Arthur with Excalibur. Excalibur was only a loner though, and had to be returned upon Arthur’s death, a separate and interesting tail.
