It’s a sure bet that any DoD “cuts” will simply get shuffled around to other DoD or NSA programs and won’t get back to the Treasury. If the TeaPublicans were serious about wanting to cut the deficit, unneeded and unwanted $100B weapons systems, like jets than can’t fly and amphibious tanks that sink, would be considered for serious cuts along with food and medical assistance for children and the homeless.

Like I said yesterday;

Spend all on protection, spend nothing on what is to be protected in the first place.

Could we please just cut the defense budget by 75%, bring our troops home, and if we get invaded, I promise to say I’m sorry?

I take that as a compliment, Canuck so you can use it!

I’m with you on this one fennec. the DoD too should face cuts, but without an accurate audit, that really makes it difficult. Though I think Rand Paul or someone came up with some anyway. I believe there was a argument that there were too many, an unnecessary amount, of Admirals or something like that. And with a few cuts and moves here an there, there was a decent size cut in defense spending that would not negatively effect actual defense. But I admit that I forgot much of the details.

The “defense cuts” don’t squeeze the pimple on a gnat’s gluteus- cuts proposed in other agencies, like EPA and other regulatory agencies, are fully intended to slice across the jugular, and allow the very thieves who got us into this mess to keep running rampant, and unchecked.

America is paying for a prize breeding bull, and Ryan, Boehner, et al are planning to barbecue it.

How exactly do we differ from Egypt where the military runs things when we can’t touch their sacred cows EVER? And the Mercan sheeple haven’t the cajones to stand in the street even without anyone shooting at them! Well except their gun nut neighbors.
