This is the side of Danziger’s toons that I deeply dislike. Here he uses a stereotype of Germans that has little if anything to do with modern post-WWII Germany to make a cheap emotional point. He could have instead crafted a toon to push his “readers” to think more deeply about what is behind the possible sale of the NYSE, how the world economy is changing, and America’s changing/deteriorating place in it.
This is worse than a wasted opportunity. It is destructive because it diverts attention from what really matters and needs to be understood.
