Funny part is, talking to and with your child in the very early years provides communications skills that drive academic and intellectual achievement, and that cannot be made up after they hit four (4).

David, I agree most wholeheartedly with you. Though I can’t prove anything from the small sample size, all three of my kids could read and could write the alphabet and some small words before they started kindergarten. I believe it’s because with each one I started reading to them before they were a year old. I also never spoke “baby talk” with them, and even when they were infants I spoke to them as if they were adults.
