This one may be over Spielberg head. I’d go with Pixar. Their pretty hot right now.

Dreamworks is doing well these days, but Pixar has yet to make a bad movie. Roman Legions vs Leprechauns seems more like a Spielberg concept, though, in light of the upcoming Cowboys and Aliens.

The others are catching up. “How to Train Your Dragon” was quite wonderful (I’m heartbroken that Chris Sanders and John Lasseter had a falling out over “American Dog”/”Bolt”), Pixar also seems, to me, to be in danger of calcifying into a “Pixar Style”; with all the possibilities for different “looks” for computer animation, I’d like to see them push some envelopes. Eventually Pixar will make a Bad Movie, but I’d rather see them do it by taking too many risks than by playing it too safe.

I was even a bit disappointed in “Toy Story 3”; the first 20 minutes and the last 20 minutes were everything I could have hoped for (“TS” and “TS2”, collectively, are one of my All-time Top Five movies), but the 40 minutes in the middle felt redundant: “OK, I guess we have to have some sort of plot.
