As if you could make a decent sized pirate hat from a modern comics section.
Kids still make pirate hats?
Love this strip. I’ve always enjoy the comics pages, best part of the “paper.”
That was me and my Grandpop..
They also make the most colorful wrapping paper when you have to improvise.
For hours? I guess the old man was a slow reader.
Part of the reason I’m here on this site is because the comics page in a newspaper was always my favorite thing to read. Just because the medium changed doesn’t mean the joy of reading the comics page has gone away.
I tried making a pirate hat out of my GoComics page, but the iPad won’t fold properly.
My girls and I do read GoComics together when we can. Now we see where Wallace’s Mom gets love of comics.
The Sunday comics also made good textbook covers. Of course, we used brown paper grocery bags when we wanted to draw our own designs.
Seagull in the picture frame, HA!!
I love the strip !I always read the comics first so my day starts with a smile.
This reminds me of the printers’ hats that the pressmen used to make and wear. And sure enough, YouTube has an illustration of how to make them.
I love the funnies I always get the Peoria ones from my grandma
