    You never know. My old dog would have been just like this guy. He would try to hump anything that moved. But I’ve seen other dogs who simply decide they’ve made enough people’s acquaintance for today so you back off.

    Most of the cats I’ve had in my life have gone off to hide in the bedroom when people came over. The two I have now, acquired as adults, just love visitors. I guess some previous owner/servant did a better job of socializing them as kittens than I ever did with my previous cats.
