^ Umm…. How exactly is it that the “libs” are trying to cut the rich down to the middle class? Do you mean by making them pay more taxes since they make more money. You’re right that will work. Last time I checked the rich stay rich. But you most have some other facts that are not known to everyone else in the world.

Actual facts disturb the “conservatives” far more than anyone else. That facts well known aren’t exactly “secrets”- even if “governments” declare the time of day “secret”- a serious leak IS a serious problem, but “National Enquirer” or “Entertainment Tonight” issues, are hardly earth shaking.

Some folks here just don’t understand much, even as they’d have you believe they do. Why, exactly, should they infer that taxation of income over a level that most of us can’t even imagine would bring the country to its knees, or even upset the lifestyles of the rich and famous?

It isn’t socialism. Even that great “communist,” Dwight Eisenhower, felt that the great percentage of American wealth should be used for the benefit of the community, e.g., the interstate highway system. Deplore it as you will, practically nobody alive hasn’t used it, and for those who have, it’s not a burden but a benefit. Where’s the gripe?

^ A previous version of McCain felt the same way. Besides, they pay less taxes percentage wise than middle class anyway.

adams - “1.No, but it can kill terrorists”

Foreign invasions create terrorists - lots of them.

Why do otherwise sensible people think you can go to the other side of the world with the killing machine and find and kill the terrorists that might find their way back here and do damage at a cost of over $2 billion per week? Wouldn’t it be more effective to spend that money at home on security and building up the institutions that contribute to a well-off, well educated, healthy, secure population?

The richest 1% of the USA population own nearly half the financial wealth in the nation. Point that out, and you are accused of inciting “class warfare.” The war is underway and pointing to it does not cause it any more than saying the Emperor has no clothes made the little boy a nudist. Joel Pett has nailed it again.
