There are also more lame shows by design. Luckily the sheer amount of trash creates more good shows by default.

To quote MIghty Mouse, “That’s why they call television a medium – because nothing on it is rare or well done !!”

Capitalism at its finest. Show business has been taken over by the business major. Imagine how badly Lucy and Desi would have done with a midwest study group in the 50’s, everyone appalled at the idea of a white woman married to a Cubano. Original thoughtful power TV like AMC gets relegated to six weeks a show while we get inundated with cheap “reality” programing and the bad actors (morally and talent wise) that engenders. You get an elephant a horse designed by committee.

HA HA!! That was a surprise comic and quite funny to boot.

^ “I Dream of Jeanie” was the mirror of Bewitched.

But what were the mirrors to Cheers, Mash and The Muppets? I guess a mirror for the “Cosby Show” could be “Good Times,” but that just doesn’t seem right. I guess the Different Strokes was the mirror for Silver Spoons, or was it Webster? And the Jeffersons were the mirror for All In The Family… or was it the Hooneymooners?” Or was Sanford and Son?
