It’s lucky that a story like this came along now that Tracy & Catchem are stuck with desk duty because of the joyride-turned-extrajurisdictional shooting spree in Minot. We could be in for months of very slow times indeed, as the wheels of bureaucracy churn out a decision. But that’s a small price to pay to ensure that real-world protocols are followed by our fictional characters. Otherwise, how can one sleep at night? And let’s not forget about the children!
But hey, we can turn lemons into lemonade by resolving the Lafayette/Crystal storyline with the help of (cue: trumpet fanfare) A PARADE OF CLASSIC CROSSOVER CHARACTERS!
Lafayette arranges to meet Crystal, only to discover that she’s talking with Steve Canyon. Christine was Canyon’s intern the summer after college and he feels he might be her father! The case becomes so notorious that Brenda Starr comes to town to cover it for CourtTV. Shortly after Rex Morgan M.D. provides crucial DNA testimony, Judge Parker has a heart attack. Luckily, his former law clerk has just returned to town so Judge Diondi takes over. But although kindly widow Mary Worth was only supposed to foster Crystal for a short time, she’s grown attached and a major depression is setting in over the prospect of their separation. How will it all resolve? Stay tuned and find out on “How Tracyville Turns.”
Well, one small cheer for Austin, a character I just can’t warm up to, for getting this issue out into the open. Maybe he will be proven to be Crystal’s father, or maybe he won’t. At least now we can look forward to having that possibility dealt with definitively. I hope for the best for Crystal, and I am not ready to say that “Poppa Lafayette” is it….

Good morning™, guys!
I think we already came to this conclusion, but this is the first that Lizz and Tracy and Sam are hearing about it. What can they do for him indeed.

Kudos to Lafayette for coming forward and revealing this information. I am sure it was not an easy decision to make.

“…I mean, never mind the time warp giving me a pre-teen daughter conceived back in the 1960s…”

Well—it MIGHT be possible; but If the tests come back Negative, will this be the last we see of him?

Wait – “Bribery” is the real family name of Christine, Crystal and “Mr. Bribery”?

“You’re her father? Well, that would go a long way towards explaining why they call her ‘Ugly Crystal’, certainly!”

Pllleeze, Artsy, don’t give these guys any ideas. Haven’t been so excited about a discovery since the Carter/Tut thingee in 1920.

Why does Lafayette look a lot older now than when we first saw him?
