    Intelligence is much more complex than just cortical neurons. One factor is the percentage of them in the front of the brain.https://news.vanderbilt.edu/2016/06/13/study-gives-new-meaning-to-the-term-bird-brain/As a bird lover, I take exception to portraying the duck as dumb, even though it isn’t as smart as some other birds. And studies have shown that birds in the wild react differently to people depending how the person treated them the last time they encountered each other (such as whether they fed them or chased them away), even if the person wears different clothing the next time.
