This is an accurate view of childhood: their interest is captured by the odd things, and not necessarily the actual focus of the exhibit/location/etc. My earliest memory of a baseball game is me eating a hot dog. The circus? Me getting a stuffed monkey on a stick, and my sister (sitting behind me) getting poked in the eye with it. I also remember the sensation of being at a counter with Mom and not being able to see over it.

Ah, nature. Just went through a huge nor’easter last week. The weather report for this Wednesday? 100% chance of rain, snow and wind. Joy.

Oh, Alice, do not judge “nature” by the Nature Center. That is something even “nature” couldn’t help!
