Actually not bad if roasted – just massively grainy. I’ve eaten them in Mexico.
Taste a lot like locusts, Jaisalmer-style. (Which means lots of black salt and a bit of brown sugar.)
Be careful what you eat, when Tanuki makes it. He’s fine with sampling from “nature’s kitchen.”
