Ramirez — This toon is way off target! Plus, it completely ignores the GOP’s track record since Saint Ronnie!

Ramirez was too young to have seen progressive Eisenhower Republicans and has a different concept of truth than liberals do. He distrusts everyone that is not one of his friends or family … he trusts his suspicions and gut feel as truth.

" … the gullibility of many on the right seems to have deeper roots even than this. That may be because at the most basic level, conservatives and liberals seem to hold different beliefs about what constitutes “truth.” Finding facts and pursuing evidence and trusting science is part of liberal ideology itself. For many conservatives, faith and intuition and trust in revealed truth appear as equally valid sources of truth. …"

Once again, the party of personal responsibility blames everything on the Democrats.

Republicans need to borrow money to afford the liberal welfare tax breaks for the rich.

What else can you do besides force people on Food Stamps to buy only canned goods?

Republican hypocrisy has never been more obvious.

Riiiiight. The Dems got the GOP in love with the idea of spending. As if exploding the national debt was not already a favorite of the GOP.

My initial “?” to this ‘toon was similar to many of the comments above. But I thought about it and am going down the path that Ramirez follows orders. The Owner Class said “Blame the Democrats” and he’s doing it. On his personal level I suspect that if the spending had been entirely tanks that went into storage or fighter jets that don’t fly he’d be ok with it. Its the Poors getting any help which the Government Of Putin agreed to that offends him.

The liberals complain about ONE (1) trillion. What about the 10 TRILLION the previous excuse for a leader spent and has nothing to show for it….except more people on welfare….more people on unemployment, more free stuff for the lazy….. no jobs…..At least President Trump will be getting something for the money. Bunch of D/As.

Who’s your local congress person, Mr. Ramirez, and how did he vote?

If your guy voted for the budget, then you’re the one holding bow and arrow, not the dems….

Republican busting the budget and creating huge deficits, and leaving it for Dems to clean up, that’s at least as old as Ronald Reagan’s presidency. Republicans do love giving huge contracts to their friends and masters to build things the military – the beauty is that they build things to be blown up and then have to make more. genius – for them, not so much for the U.S. taxpayer.

We will never have a balanced budget nor fiscal sustainability as long as Democrats or Republicans are in charge.

Republicans DO care about deficits, they’re just not AGAINST them.

Mr. Ramirez’s art is wonderful. This one made me smile.

The Republican Party has long been deeply in love with spending, though. As long as it involves the military, they are for it.

I believe Teddy Roosevelt was right when he said America should speak softly and carry a big stick. Our current president speaks and tweets loudly, and the stick has gotten far bigger than needed. I hope at least part of that huge budget is going towards protecting our elections from interference.
