“Didst” goes with “thou” (singular), “did” goes with “ye” (plural).

Dear Steve Moore: thou hast attempted to use the archaic English second person singular, and thou hast made an idiot of thyself through thy ignorance. If thou wishest to attempt this foolishness again, let not this want of learning spoil thy wit, for know that those who know better than thou dost are watching this comic of thine. Thou art on notice! “Didst thou get it,” not “Did thou get it,” is correct.

Something in his teeth? Might be the bit, since neither steed seems to have one.

This stands in contrast to modern Southern American usage, which only needs one word: “Djagiddit?”

For Pete’s sake, I agree with those here who say who cares about the details, enjoy the comic!
