California is being overwhelmed by government apparatchiks, unions, illegal aliens (many of whom vote), and the like parasites …

I am moving all of my economic entities out of the state - I will not feed the cancer with my tax $$!

Oh, well then, let’s not worry any more. If things were good when Brown was last governor, then by all means, things MUST be going to be great during the next term!!!

California is counting on your taxes for their social welfare system bailout. Remember that next April 15.

Albert just drank too much TEA. It was Reagan policies that broke the bank in California, and the nation - period. If they had taken in the taxes needed to match their programs, instead of cutting taxes- well, balancing your checkbook isn’t insane. I laugh hysterically every time another Republican demands a “balanced budget amendment” when they’ve NEVER actually voted to support any such thing as it would bring down their house of credit cards.

He’s not done writing. It should say “California Republican Party.” If you’re far enough right to win in the primary, you’re to far right to win statewide. We don’t vote for rich people just ‘cause they’re rich, they gotta be a movie star to try that.

We send more money to Washington than we get back.

dtroutma is old enough to know better. Through roughly 1994, there were regular state income surpluses in CA, with tax refunds to the taxpayers at large–all post Reagan. The difference between then and now? The Demo majority in about 1994 removed the limitation on spending that restricted spending growth to population growth. The public employee union/Demo juggernaut started us on our present path at roughly the same time. The truth will set you free.

When moon-beam was governor, aerospace, both civil and military, and defense industries accounted for about 40% of California’s economy. Today we produce one aircraft - C17 …

Brown’s biggest and most negative contribution to the California’s demise is following in JFK’s footsteps and allowing government workers to unionize …

While there is a legitimate case to be made for unionizing mine workers and such, I have yet to hear / read an intellectually honest reason for such powers to be imparted on civil / public service workers …

California is being effectively governed by government union organizers - they are not likely to cut their exorbitant, extorted ‘benefits’, which why I and most of my friends will be making sure that we’ll not pay any taxes to those parasites!

“The undoing of California began with Proposition 13 …”

    That is absolutely correct!

    Californians are not taxed enough!

The government is way too small for the 6th - 7th - 10th economy of the World …

The public workers are not paid enough and their retirement benefits are a mere pittance compared to what a worker in private sector gets - for the same labor.

the 2 Left Coasts plus the Midwest Illinois joining New York and California in bankruptcy and deeply-rooted Leftwing Union Thugs and Ivory-tower Marxists running government…….will no doubt wage war on the sensible New Guard in the U.S. House, and oppose every move to correct the direction and policy that could promote real recovery in Economics & Employment and a return to our foundational roots…..

the Will of the People gave a clear message Nov.2nd. Every elected person from the Oval Office down to state Governors and city Mayors….should realize 2011 and 2012 are a test and that if the Will of the People is again thwarted, 2012 could see a bigger political Turnover of politicians.

“We send more money to Washington than we get back.”

That is true everywhere. What do you think feed our bloated bureaucracy? Besides this, what is the wisdom in taking the money away in order for “public servants” in congress to bid on ways to get the money back to their constituents?

Einstein’s definition of insanity applies to every aspect of our government, not just during this cycle, but at the very least ever since LBJ’s so-called “war on poverty” (a struggle that poverty is on the verge of winning). The results of last Tuesday’s election (except for in places like California) are that voters realize the craziness that is engulfing our country.

Some of us get it, and hopefully a lot more will get it on election day, 2012.

Before Prop 13, real estate developers would drive up home prices & tax appraisers would drive people on fixed incomes from their homes. It pegs your property tax to the last sale price rather than current market price. It allows those on fixed incomes to buy the nicest house they can afford without having to downsize & move farther into the boonies every few years. The problem is spending, especially on the prison guards & other public employee unions.

Howie, if you’ve paid any attention, I’ve always blamed Reagan- actually Cheney, Rumsfeld, Rove and the clowns behind the “acting president”, since Ford, who led Reagan down the Alzheimers highway, and didn’t have to wait for “W”- he was intellectually way behind Ron from the start.

when the people of north dakota (or any state) pay their FEDERAL INCOME TAX, is that money used to pay for the state alone or is it combined with the rest of the state’s and used to aid ALL of the states ?

Myming–the money the people pay to the IRS is used by the feds for federal programs, not state programs. The state sales tax and income tax they pay gets returned to them through state programs.
