There definitely are a lot of good people out there. Especially the ones that take in the unadoptable pets with serious physical and medical problems. They are the heroes.

When we were younger we bought a house that’s all stairs, including off the deck into the yard. As our dogs aged we’ve learned to fashion slings to help them up and down to the yard. Our current senior citizen just has a little hip problem which is not as bad as my knee problem. Consequently, he actually makes it up the stairs and out of the sling before I get to the stop. But that ol’ dog comes running back for me as I struggle to the top and waits for me, then he goes to the door and does his happy dance. Dogs!

Oh, and btw, Koko and Sakura, ALL our dogs for the last 40+ years have been rescues.

I am in my third rescue. Will always rescue. They have issues but who doesn’t?
