BMI is a state of mind…and completely inaccurate.

I’m four pounds over my “ideal” BMI, but my family doctor says my weight is just fine for a 75 year old. He said seniors who are SLIGHTLY overweight live longer.

Calculated BMI is just an estimate and completely useless. If you have not been weighed floating in a neutral buoyancy tank, you do not know your real BMI.

I would like to get down to that. Sigh. I know it is supposed to be exaggerated, but it is possible if she is fit (i.e., more muscle than fat). You can weigh more but be smaller because muscles take up less space than fat.

Homer Simpson probably weighs more than Kathy, and I found a reference that said “he wants to gain weight to go on disability. when he weighs in, he weighed 239 pounds”. However, I always thought Homer actually weighed more than they said he did.
