Adam, gasp…you might actually have to get a real job if things don’t pick up! Oh, the inhumanity! I foresee a job perhaps at the local supermarket learning that eggs and bread go on top, not the bottom of the bag!
Sometimes I wonder how much of an extension Adam is of his author, Rob Harrell. In advising Adam to “get a real job”, is only a step away from telling Rob to get a real job. Being a writer may be unconventional, as is being a comic strip artist, but it is a real job, both to Adam and to Mr. Harrell. And Adam would be sorely missed.
It IS weird, that letdown after the deadlines and the final editing on the author’s proofs where you make sure every single keystroke was typed right and shipping the last of it off—and then waiting months for the publisher to get the actual physical book out. The intense push on the author’s part, and then… That’s it.
