There is a 3 man group called The Reduced Shakespeare Company who used to do a show called “The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (abridged)”. I saw it years ago, and they explained that all the comedies share the same plot. All the tragedies also share one plot. I’m not sure about the histories, but they managed to do all 31 plays in a single evening. The group is still around, but seems to have branched out to other things.
