People may think that this kind of thing can’t happen, but more than 12 years ago, I worked for a city in Florida that did this kind of thing to some of its employees. There was a woman working for the city maintenance department who kept applying to work managing trees and ground cover in the parks. Despite the fact that she came from a family firm that did just that, the city kept insisting that women couldn’t do that work. It paid more than the desk job she had and she was qualified, so she finally sued and got hte promotion. Then when she parked her truck at one of the recreation centers to take a restroom break, one of her supervisors suddenly showed up to demand info on why she was taking a break. When she explained, he told her that she wanted a man’s job, so she could just do what the men did and go behind a tree to relieve herself…
