I didn’t care much for the public controversy, but Trump spawned it, and has exacerbated it at every turn. He would benefit from the wisdom of his predecessor:

But, of course, this septuagenarian’s immaturity will not allow it.

So, Henry, what you’re saying is that you approve of the way Mr. Trump handled the call? That what he did was proper and respectful? That would be the call you would want your widow, or your mother to receive? That you would feel consoled if it was someone for whom you cared? Is this what you’re saying?

So true, Trump politicized the death of an American soldier to distract from why he insulted Chad and caused the death of these four heroes. He couldn’t even remember the soldier’s name as he insulted his parents and wife.

What happens when life is permanently filtered through the lens of Fox News.

As a crew member on a USAF Airlifter, I’ve brought back combat-deceased military members to their families. It is the saddest thing I’ve ever done. Use someone else to make money drawing cartoons. :-(

@BOZHI THAT’S WHAT HE WAS SUPPOSED TO SAY. BUT YOU KNOW WHAT HAPPENS EVERY TIME HE GOES OFF SCRIPT. Everytime he goes off script, he screws up. Because he cannot come up with anything from the heart unless he is totally and thoroughly coached beforehand. This was a rushed job, to get a call in because the media had gotten hold of a news item of killed Americans and no condolences from the president. Of course, he just had to say he had done something that he hadn’t already accomplished to look good in an interview. So everyone scrambled to cover his butt and get a condolence call in the shortest amount of time that passed after that interview. Trump is no good as an extemporaneous speaker. Since he has no empathy, reaching out to a widow was not his strong point. To make matters worse, everyone is trying to change the facts of the matter by leveling more accusations and More Lies. As usual more caca coming out of the White House.
