    Mr. Ramirez, you do not know that for sure. It may just have made a difference. But you keep telling yourself it wouldn’t have so you will sleep better at night.

    Apparently, Ramirez, like Payne, is not that concerned about daily mass killings and gun-inflicted suicides in USA…. Sad!

    @chev.james

    Thank you Mr. James! You made an excellent case for banning guns. Just think of all those outcomes you listed that would no longer exist, if guns and ammo were removed from society!

    Back in reality however. The link between mental health and guns is way overblown… We would do better with anger management.

    https://www.theatlantic.com/health/archive/2016/06/untangling-gun-violence-from-mental-illness/485906/

    “We have a strong responsibility as researchers who study mental illness to try to debunk that myth,” says Jeffrey Swanson, a professor of psychiatry at Duke University. “I say as loudly and as strongly and as frequently as I can, that mental illness is not a very big part of the problem of gun violence in the United States.”

    The overwhelming majority of people with mental illnesses are not violent, just like the overwhelming majority of all people are not violent. Only 4 percent of the violence—not just gun violence, but any kind—in the United States is attributable to schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, or depression (the three most-cited mental illnesses in conjunction with violence). In other words, 96 percent of the violence in America has nothing to do with mental illness.

    @chev.james: If the shooter had used a muzzle loader, you would still be calling for guns to be banned.

    If the shooter had used a muzzle loader there would not have been anywhere near as high a death toll. I’d wager that even if he was using a standard modern hunting rifle he would not have been able kill more than a very few people before the police got there, as it was 58 dead and over 400 wounded. So no, it’s true that solid sensible gun regulation will not completely stop it, but it sure as hell would reduce the death toll.

    Ramirez is right; we have to accept that nothing we can do will stop the mass slaughter so we might as well give up and just enjoy it.

    As we all know, every single thing on the list in Ramirez’ cartoon is

    EXACTLY the same as banning all guns and abolishing the second amendment.

    EXACTLY.

    We know that because Ramirez and the other Trump Disciples keep claiming it over and over.

    And they NEVER lie.
