So true. Many men NEVER talk about their feelings about anything.

I know what Arlo means – but on a different matter. Although I am only in my mid-sixties, I have begun to think in terms of “lasts.” I might now have my last car, we will soon move to our last house, I will soon retire from my last job (in about six years, actually), we have our last furniture, and so on.

“Last” ends with your final breath. I retired in 2011 and moved to my last hometown…until family circumstances required me to move 200 miles away earlier in the year. Now I am looking for yet another (permanent) place to live by the end of the year. At 72, life is still full of surprises.

Maybe they should move into this house, and have the kids build the one in the swamp!

As Arlo ponders just how hungry those ’gators might be.

Hubby and I moved into this house when we got married. Unless it is blown out from under us, we have no intention of moving.

A “Retirement Facility” can be heaven or it can be hell. The trick is to choose wisely while you can. If you wait till it is too late and your children pick the place, it will be hell and you will not like it. Arlo is thinking right.

Being out in nature has a way of making you more relaxed and philosophical.

Could it be that he says nothing at home because he is totally bored?

There doesn’t seem to be a tv on the porch…. people talk more without that distraction.

Yeah, that’s what I thought, too, Arlo. Yet, here I am, in the wilds of Oklahoma.
