Hey it pays off being the pet. I always got to run to the office or go get the A/V equipment they needed. My plan was getting out of class as much as possible. It also didn’t hurt when I was on the borderline of passing or failing.
I seem to remember one comic a while back where Gracie was telling her friend that one of her teachers gave her a C, her friend thought that meant that Gracie wouldn’t like the teacher any more but Gracie replied that the teacher was now her favorite because she wasn’t playing favorites and was making her work for her grade.
My daughter is just entering fourth grade and loves school. She wants to give her teacher a back-to-school gift. It isn’t to “suck up”, it is because being in class makes her happy.
