Last panel: I remember thinking that same thing. But get used to either cooking or eating out.

Romantic dinners always worked for me. Even now, it surprises women to find a guy who can cook a good meal.

I can cook a GOOD meal, but I can’t really do a ROMANTIC meal. The only things I cook well are the things I like myself, and my tastes are pretty simple/casual/”unsophisticated”. Actually, the more trouble somebody takes to cook ME a “special” dinner, the less likely that I’ll enjoy it…

I can do a really nice Chicken Parmesan, but the novelty would wear off if I offerred the same dish at every special occasion.

(However, I actively enjoy washing dishes, and that’s usually avidly accepted as my contribution.)

fritz, that’s so true. Because of my work schedule, I’m not at home 3 nights a week, but when I get in, one of the first things I’ll do is clean up any dishes in the kitchen. My lovely female accomplice says that’s not my job, but I just smile and finish what I’m doing, and lo and behold, she’ll wind up in the mood to cook something really special for dinner.
