There’s no need to sabotage it. It’s failing on it’s own. Just wait for all the insurers to pull out. How, again, did we arrive at a point where we don’t even have the freedom to decide what insurance we actually want or need?
This is a pretty accurate depiction of how incompetent the GOP repeal and Replace effort is. They have no tool in their tool kit to come up with good legislation.
IDAHOSERR E P E A L .It never was possible for government to do insurance OR medicine. The provision of medicine is a classic example of market failure. The private or cooperative insurance industry only operated well when the providers (doctors and hospitals) were either charitable entities or bound by professional ethics. In the current system almost all medical care, materials and insurance is provided by corporate entities whose sole duty is to their owners. It is almost impossible for patients (now ‘customers’) to shop around and compare prices as all the market power is in the hands of the providers. The US medical system is the most expensive in the world and its people as a whole are poorly served by it.
