I don’t know where the phrase came from . but it is illogical . The person is there to serve me in one way or another and to say ‘no problem’ insinuates I did disturb his routine some how .
You’re welcome means, you are welcome. To what though? It doesn’t seem like a good response to “thank you”, besides it’s the only other kind of answer for that compliment.

Yes, unfortunately saying “You’re Welcome” has gone by the wayside.
