Actually, this is not as far fetched as it may seem. My wife is a nurse and people have sent pictures of various bug bites, wounds, surgery sites (stitches and such), etc. to ask her opinion.

Our hospital is experimenting with a clinic run by nurses. The nurses do the evaluation and then video conference with a doctor who also “see” the patient. In many cases, the patient can be treated by the nurse under the doctor’s orders. There are a lot of things a nurse can do under her license with orders from a doctor.
