I’m surprised he hasn’t worn out the tendon that holds his thumb in its socket (like I did, and had to have surgery to connect a tendon from my wrist to my right thumb to hold it in place; left thumb is coming along, too).

Yeah, that one got by me too.

But then again, my cat has a teeny little excuse for a finger where a thumb once might have been (complete with claw). Maybe Garfield’s couch potato ways have allowed him to evolve a thumb where once there was a wee small nubbin.
