A dem almost winning in the district I live in would be an amazing feat.

My senator, congressperson and governor are all dems, maybe you should move.

It is true the Democrats almost won, but they didn’t. Almost doesn’t get you anywhere in DC. So Democrats are depressed, or celebrating the almosts, while Republicans rejoice. Which is why Wins matter – and almosts help keep the base energized.

I think the tide could change when the changes being legislated hit home in the lives of ordinary people.

For a Democrat to win in places like Georgia, Kansas, South Carolina, etc., is asking a lot. The fact that they came close says a lot.
