George W. Bush: Here they come now, Uncle Dick! Does this mean we're on the way to finish wrecking the country like we started out to do? Dick Cheney: Bet your sweet asterisk, Bushie. Punk: The road to redemption for Bush II. The Midterm Game.

^ I agree 100% and wish the Dems I voted for had more backbone and stood up to the Retards.
But it looks like the cheney/shrub inheritors are going to get a second chance to TOTALLY destroy the country.
And I don’t need a tax cut. The best news I have heard is that Jeb! wants to stay retired. He destroyed FL’s education system and was working on the rest.

^ Sigh… First you manage to ban the word “liberal” from discussion. The dems flee to “progressive” and now you want to ban that too.

“The age of American Progressivism is over.”
It’s time for women to get back in the kitchen, ordinary people to work for paltry wages, kick gays and single mothers out of our schools, establish a national religion, and declare war on the rest of the world. Yay Conservatism. Go go go! *SaltWaterCroc over 13 years ago
Republicans hate the term “progressive” even more than “liberal”. It’s because progressive means the company is going forward, instead of back to the Dark Ages.

Howie, once again you fail to offer any sort of details. Why do you bother to post?

Oliphant got it just right. Cheney should be in jail for treason but isn’t, corporation are not people but the court is pretending they are, and the Palinites have stated that they want to destroy the health-care system.

@richard…if only those of us who think with our minds instead of our billfolds would get the message.
WarBush over 13 years ago
Oliphant is right. They’ve already started the letterbombing campaign. Just got two more this week. Even though me and a few friends know better than to trust these leeches there are some who are taking the bait.
Hiya Tony! Haven’t seen you in while!

Hasn’t anyone noticed that the Dems are NOT on the left, where you’d expect to find them, but on the left side of the GOP???
This explains all the anomalies which people are wringing their hands over. Obama hasn’t acted on anyone’s behalf except his own and his party, because it’s all one party. And they AREN’T liberals or progressives or anywhere to be found to the left of center.

Hmmm, many of the thoughts of Alinsky were shared by Goebbels, Marc Antony, Jesus, and other “community organizers” through history.

Ole Saul has been both praised and villified. A Catholic organization from the heartland award him the Pacem in Terris Award, also awarded to MLK, JFK, and Mother Teresa.
His methods were controversial, and I don’t know enough details of his history to unconditionally back him, but any white man fighting for the rights of poor African-Americans in the 40’s and 50’s deserves some respect.
Blaming him for the state of our inner cities 30 years after his death makes no sense.

The sad fact nowdays is that if you run a relatively clean and honest campaign, which John McCain did to his credit, he lost. We may never know if he lost because he was fair in campaigning or because of his choice for VP.

@Jackmeof Alinsky? Seriously? Who’s your writer John Bohnehead?
dshepard over 13 years ago
These are the same squares that the Democrats have already played. Of course, the Republicans will play them too.

Blaming the Democtic congress for the current mess is another example of the Big Lie. Nothing they did caused the current [problems and the recession started just a few months later, not nearly time for them to have passed any relevant legislation.
Meanwhile Bush put the nation trillions in debt to play general and give money to his rich patrons. The the right wing keeps ignoring that fact leads me to wonder about their sanity.
riley05 over 13 years ago
The right wing seems pretty sane to me. With money pouring in from Fox News, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, and both foreign and domestic corporations, why shouldn’t they keep doing what they’re doing?
It’s the voters who are insane for allowing themselves to be fooled.
Spaghettus1 over 13 years ago
^Wow, Tigger, swinging wild with that one. As rfischer says, the timing is way off.
John Paulson and few others saw this coming in 2005, and he’s not psychic; the fall was already in motion, while the GOP was in control.

truecanadianliberal – “I still can’t figure out why anyone other than the uber-rich would vote Republican,”
It’s easily explained in one word – abortion – tho it’s not really about abortion, it’s the motivator.

Also Tigger the Democratic Congress lowered the defense budget for the war. Guess who threaten to veto if he didn’t get his money?

Lindz.coop, you can deal with abortion without having to give the Republicans the chance to finish destroying the country.
Remember, abortion shares a feature with gay marriage: If you don’t like it, don’t have one.

Can only assume Michael is either being sarcastic, or has never heard of the Geneva Conventions— like most folks who supported Cheney and Rumsfeld.

Puppy may still be posting under yet another name change, but I wasn’t aware of ANandy doing that.

Another very appropriate cartoon. Remember when the Republicans were the good party? Well, not since Coolidge. The GOP is now the party of libertarians, social reactionaries, and a lot of people fooled by the Koch brothers (yes, that’s you Mr and Mrs Tea Party dupes). While the wealth of the USA becomes more and more concentrated, the very rich are using their funds to subvert our election processes. And the angry ones in the GOP and the TP are ripe for the subterfuge. They don’t understand that they are working against their own interests.

It’s funny watching you liberals lose your mind, your true socialist/marxist intentions have been playing out in the political arena and you are getting rejected. Your leaders are on their way to wrecking health care now, the first square should say restore health care to the free market. Your responses like women go back to the kitchen blah, blah, blah, are so predictable and outdated. You guys are like bunch of name calling crying grade school children. If you want socialism so bad, move to Europe please, there are plenty of failing socialist countries there for you to be happy living in. The US will be so much better off.
carmined over 13 years ago
Pat, you draw well, that’s about it.

carmined: again with the right-wing name calling and whining?
carmined over 13 years ago
Doesn’t look like name calling to me. I am not whining, I am happy. Obama, like Clinton is the best thing that could ever happen for midterm elections. We need a marxist president and a socialist congress to show up every once in a while to show how dangerous it actually is.
Also, the left has just as many millionaires, billionaires but I never hear any complaints about them. Even with most of the media protecting the left, you are still losing. My faith in the freedom loving population of the American people has been reaffirmed.
We outnumber the socialists, we just needed something to bring it together.
Good luck in your return to the minority and then hopefully into obscurity.
riley05 over 13 years ago
I love how Carmined claims our “leaders are on their way to wrecking health care”, apparently ignorant of the fact that our health care system was self-destructing prior to the attempts to fix it.
Unfortunately, because the Democrats tried to appease the Republicans by allowing them to gut the effectiveness of what Obama originally proposed (and still got zero Republican support), the bill has much less chance of helping the overall situation.
But let’s ask the newly insured how they feel about Carmined’s “wrecking” claim.
carmined over 13 years ago
Hehe, you guys are going down in flames. I’m surprised it took so long for the Nazi stuff to come out, what a joke. You guys seem to forget the Nazi’s were socialists like your party.
I am enjoying the miserable failure of your simple minded idealogy.
If you call what they are doing to health care, “fixing it”, you really have no idea of what you are talking about. The democrats had a majority, it is their failure, they could do whatever they wanted. Stop blaming everyone else and look in the mirror.
I’m telling you guys, move to Europe, you will be much happier. I will be drinking champagne on election eve.
riley05 over 13 years ago
Ask Republican Congressman Rich Iott about the Nazis.
As noted, I agree with you, Carmined, that the Democrats could have done much better fixing health care…they screwed up by allowing the Republicans to sabotage the bill.
But to put those same Republicans back in power is obviously not going to help matters at all…unless you’re heavily invested in insurance companies.

carmined gloated ”I’m telling you guys, move to Europe, you will be much happier. I will be drinking champagne on election eve.”
A European drink from a specifically demarcated region in France? That’s treachery. Oh, you mean, you’ll be in Europe?
carmined over 13 years ago
Liberalism is socialism, you’re in denial, most liberal, progressives, socialists, whatever label you call it, are.
No, I’m staying here. The US makes good champagne also.
I am less worried about the conservatives in power than this current batch of over regulating, freedom robbing control freaks.
riley05 over 13 years ago
^ So what government regulatory bodies should we get rid of in order to increase our freedom and reduce the size of government, Carmined?
The FCC? The FDA? The ATC?
CIA? FBI?
