Coming home from the hospital, I held my newborn brother in the back seat of the car, by the neck! Fortunately for him my Mother turned around, saw what was going on and stopped me! Curses!

haha, I have a photo of our girls, then 10 and 6 years old holding their little brother, they’re both smiling and really cute but his face looks really terrified. see here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/hildigunnur/2193912128/in/set-72057594096828600/

Have you ever seen the picture of a new first-time father holding his baby for the first time?

My husband and I used to periodically check the back seat, to see if our newborn daughter was still, you know, alive.
Later, she found her voice.

I use to have dreams nightmares about holding a baby then dropping them. My two are young adults now. I don’t like having nightmares about babies. I have since while working pt in office setting, gone to Jr. college on-line. Since my field is dying I am trying fo something different Medical Encoding. Hope this works. Where I live at unemplyment is awful. So bad one aircraft company wants to leave town and take up federal fema money ment for Louisana.

My kids helped with various tasks as I had more (4 kids in 5 years), but taking care, or even holding a newborn was not one of them. Fetch a glass of water, etc were more likely. My kids were born in the early 1960s.

Heck, I’m one of 7. We all hold every new baby starting when from birth! In fact, we have to set timers– “Okay, Robin, hold the baby for 5 minutes, and then it’s Robbies turn” “But DADDY! Only 5 minutes!!???” Needless to say we are all pros at handling babies!
