Hola JFristein, Drycula, The Flash and Shika-BOO!
I’ve been up for awhile, but I hit the ground running. Since I had to wash one of the couch cushion covers, I decided to go ahead and wash them all. They are so hard to take off.
Wow, I haven’t seen Sabado Gigante in forever! Cleo, you would love that show, lots of scantily clad women on there.
I would watch the show with my grandmother. I liked the game show portions, not the half-naked ladies.
Carmy I always find Mexican TV entertaining, because almost every show features scantily clad ladies. The thing I don’t understand is Spanish shows from Mexico down to Brazil all seem to be loud, from loud talking to loud music. It is hard to get used to.
Cleo, I know what you mean. I guess some people are just naturally loud. I thought the shows were loud because my grandma had the volume turned up too high.
One of my favorite games, which I think was on Sabado Gigante, was “Arriba, Papi, Arriba!” The dad of the family had to climb up a greased slide to his family. If he made it, he’d get the prize. So his family would be shouting, Arriba, Papi, Arriba (get to the top Daddy). i don’t think I ever saw anyone win that one.
Dry is probably wracking her brain trying too think of a witty response, which could take awhile.
Carmy, I do not miss TV. I miss not being able to watch certain sporting events, but if I chose to I could go somewhere else and watch it. It is funny how I have transformed from either having the TV or radio on all of the time at home and in my car; to not having them on at all, except when LilG wants to listen to the radio, which isn’t often because she downloads everything onto her shuffle.
Cleo, we just recently starting watching TV again because it was part of the package for our internet and phone. I chose the family plan, which is not very many channels. What I don’t like is having the TV on, just for the sake of having the TV on. I always have to remind my girls that. I would rather watch a movie from my DVD or VHS collection if anything.
Carmy I used to have every channel, not because I wanted the vast variety, but because it was the only way that I could get all of the movie channels, which besides sports was the majority of what I watched.
It is time to go outside and cut back this years fruit bearing raspberry canes, but because of a deer, it was our first pitiful year, which shows how valuable it was to have our dear Lab Cleo, on guard.
Well low and behold I picked a handful of raspberries, so another task put aside for a few days.
Dry, when I first decided to make your pepper, sauerkraut recipe, since I couldn’t find Hungarian Hot Wax peppers, LilG bought banana peppers instead, then a few days later she discovered Romanian Hot Wax peppers, so we used those instead. I ended up freezing most of the banana peppers, but I am going to stuff the rest with onions, carrots, wild mushrooms, and tomato sauce and paste and have them for dinner tonight. I am fudging a recipe as LilG wants a vegetarian meal, so we shall see how they turn out.
Yea, Cleo! You found some raspberries. I wonder if there much a difference between the Hungarian and Romanian hot wax peppers. Enjoy your stroll.
I’ve been putting the covers back on the couch cushions and it is a lot easier than the last time I did it. Maybe I learned something the last time around.
I think Hungarian are hotter than Romanian, but Romanian are hotter than Banana, so we shall see. I am looking forward to trying them, but the recipe says to wait for a couple of weeks.
I am off to clear our walkway down to our backyard creek.
Carmy, I guess it takes a couple of weeks for everything to achieve it’s ultimate flavor. I am sure Dry has the answer. But, I think it is a chance for all the ingredients and the pickling process to do it’s thing. The same is true with making dill pickles.
Oh yes, always refrigerated, unless of course, you can it, which I didn’t. Didn’t have enough to do that much. I did them in a couple of gallon pickle jars.
I went to WalMart, to look at laptops, won’t buy one there, don’t spend money at WalMart unless ABSOLUTELY, POSITIVELY NECESSARY! Just doing some research. Then roasted a pork tenderloin for sandwiches through the week, made a BIG pot of homemade vegetable soup, and so on.
This evening I watched a thunderstorm, probably the last of the season, come down the valley. Lots of across the sky lightening, ground to earth lightening, and literally rolling thunder. Now it’s starting up again!
My banana pepper dish was good for dinner tonight. And in my own imagination it was better than the original because it didn’t depend on the meat for flavor. I like eating vegetarian, when a meal is benefited by the lack of protein. The original dish called for 2 pounds of Italian sausage which sounded like overkill to me. And this is for 8 people. We had the same recipe minus the sausage and it would have been enough for 3.
I feel the same about Walmart too. I usually shop at the military stores, but I do shop at some of the local stores also.
Cleo, I’m glad your dinner turned out well. I think the 2 pounds of Italian sausage would have been way too much also. We had enchiladas, some with beef and cheese and some just cheese.

cleo, it must be Dry humor. It’s not so funny. But, of course she finds it funny because she is *SO* easily entertained!

JFri remember you are talking about FHIG. It’s best to be prepared to dodge flung objects that could be heading your way.

CarMummy, Cleo(THEFLASH) is correct! I guess you could consider it marinading.

Okay, that’s what I was thinking. Is it kept refrigerated for the 2 weeks? Hola Dry! Busy day?

cleokaya over 13 years ago
Carmy mine were canned so no time in the fridge is necessary.
I too stay away from WalMart unless any other alternative is out of the question. I hate that place.
