Such great news. My private prisons will be making scads of money off the American taxpayers as we lock up more and more of the American population. I’m hoping we get to 50% in the near future.
This is a Win-Win for Republicans! Their donors make big bucks off the private prisons the States are too cheap to build themselves, and to add insult to injury the drug users that ARE busted and sent to prison are, more often than not, the poor or a minority even though drug misuse is pretty evenly distributed across all classes and races. And you can’t vote while in prison and a lot of states revoke your right to vote for all time, even AFTER you’ve “paid your debt to Society!” So a Win-Win for Republicans!
Maybe if the republicans could just send all the minorities to jail, we wouldn’t have to worry about this kind of thing. We could get addiction help for the whites, because everyone the Republicans hate would already be in jail. Welcome to Trump’s America
Big pharma is responsible for the opioid crisis, not street dudes, who DO sell all the excess they manufacture beyond the stuff legally OVER prescribed. Legalize marijuana for medical use, take it off schedule I where it doesn’t belong, and save thousands of lives, like the folks who’ve found relief through marijuana which is NOT physically addictive, and has never killed anyone!
