It looks like this fellow is not our beloved Joel, but is instead the REAL Santa. I suspect that is why we have only seen him in silhouette. He also seems a bit taller and a bit more rotund than Joel.
I suspect poor, good natured Joel is still stuck on the waterwheel due to his doofus buddy, Rufus.
If the kids get bicycles from the REAL Santa, that will be great… they will likely be shinny and new, too.
Hey, I just went back and looked…. I am even more convinced this is the REAL Santa now…. Joel’s boots are a) a different shape, and b) are brown in color. The fellow today (I predict he’s the REAL Santa) is wearing box toed boots that are black.
I am very happy for the kids! But, I am saddened at all the indignities wise-sage Joel has to put up with due to Rufus lately. Rufus used to be a better friend until the last few arcs.
Perhaps Joel will get to meet the REAL Santa too…. and perhaps they can share a pipe or two together and talk. I would bet that Santa’s pipe tobacco is very nice, and would a variety that Joel never has sampled previously.
