Has a car like that, yet roles around in a minivan. Looks like he talks nicer to that car than the woman he loves who bore his daughters, what a guy!

Where does Roy keep ‘Jolene’ at night …

… and why does Charlene put up with her?

In the fourth panel, It appears Charlene might be thinking of using those ‘Gardening Gloves’ for something other than gardening.

As I do enjoy arcs, I’m hoping this one isn’t over quite yet, even if it should mean veering over to Roy complaining to Sam …

ROY: “She said mean things about my car!”

    SAM: “Yeah, that’s the worst.”

As an academic motorcyclist, I can analyse and recognise both parties’ needs.

Based on my observation of my grandmothers and great-aunts, talking to plants is more to soothe their nerves, but my colleagues in Calcutta beg to differ – they believe plants can respond to auditory stimuli. And so did the great Dr. Jagadis Chandra Bose, founder of the discipline of biophysics and the man who invented ways of sedating trees for transplant. Charley-girl is in the right as far as Nature and Science are concerned – but don’t bring the debate about between those magazines or you’ll never hear the end of it.

Roy, however, is twisted by the “confines” placed on masculinity during his upbringing – it happens with many under-30s born before the 1990s. They develop greater attachments to their vehicles, largely because their vehicles allow them to vent – never underestimate the healing power of a good venting: many therapists wish they could swear by it. As a biker (my busted leg notwithstanding), I can argue that the need to vent is what drives most of us to drive alone, because we find it easier to vent our feelings than address them – understandably, since while feeling our minds are usually pulled away from the ability to reason and think clearly. This cloud must be allowed to dissipate before rational thought can be returned to. Most bikers don’t have enough mind to see this, which is why they do rather than talk. This is why men form attachments to things rather than people, particularly with vehicles – they become essentially non-living though fully responsive pets, and I don’t need to explain that many people unconsciously use pets to prepare themselves for children.

I thought Roy believed in all that superstitious stuff, he belives in reptoids, he believes in sasquatch, and apparently he believes that mouthwash is equivalent to cyanide when you drink it, can’t believe he’s calling Charlene’s gardening dumb. Wonder if he’d change his tune if he knew Ellie came up with it?

I never understood why people name inanimate objects. I’ve been a car guy my entire live and have never don that.

Not Roy’s finest hour. Best thing about acting foolish around wife is the chance to make up later. I wonder if Jolene has ever pulled the Pamper Camper.
